SAT SEPT 3, 2011

WOKE UP TO A GLORIOUS SUNRISE...echocardiogram at 9am...life's little pleasures as you get older, there is always some test to take, something to examine. Office was empty. Thank goodness. A visit to the doctor's office is always interesting. As you open the door to the office, it may be standing room only or no one at all waiting. Today was the latter! The sono technician, was good looking, African American male and I almost saw his eyes light up as I walked into the office. Maybe he was used to the older population of clients. 10 minutes, I was inside, disrobing from the waist up. Since I am a nurse that deals with people putting these paper gowns on everyday, I had a sort of deja vu feeling. Next came the technician, after getting all the vital informations, the lights were turned off so that the only glow came from the sonogram machine. We talked as he plopped the slimy conductive gel on my chest, I guess sort of nervous, anxiety talking. I forgot I was in a doctors office, he made me feel at ease. I get to hear my heartbeat which flashes me back to hearing the babies in my stomachs heartbeats. Then it was over. So intimate, short and sweet. I get dressed, come out to the waiting room feeling happy that that task is over. I have a smile on my face as I say good bye to the staff and notice 5 people waiting in the doctors office.

Next stop swim class........the 10 yr old and I schlepp out to Far Rockaway HS, only to find out that the permit the instructor had for the pool, expired 8/31. No Entry. This is after two emails, received yesterday stating that the pool would be open...oh well...we decide to walk for some exercise......then off to the bank....for the 10 yr old to learn about saving, we deposit a birthday check....and off to our fave 711...after the walk, the last thing I needed was a banana slurpee..but it was soo good.

Now on to the next event washing and texturizing the swimmers hair, that looks like an afro ponytail...Is school really starting in 4 days...egads.....phone rings.....her friends mom...calls, her cousin needs kids to do a photo shoot in summer casual clothes tomorrow......in the city...Great....should be interesting....now off to do the hair washing..argh....
